Addicted to Sport is a community physical activity project delivered by Extra Yard Community Project CIC.
The digital platform, software, branding and intellectual property that powers Addicted to Sport have been designed and developed by The Extra Yard Group Ltd and are licensed for use by the project.
Extra Yard Community Project CIC is the Data Controller for personal information collected through this project.

- provide activities safely
- record attendance
- award participation points and challenges
- contact families about sessions

- produce anonymous reports for funders and partners

Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
Parent or guardian information

Child information
- Name
- Date of birth
- Accessibility requirements
- Emergency contact details
- Relevant medical information
- Booking history
- Attendance history
- Points, badges and challenge progress
Optional information such as photography or social media consent is collected only where parents choose to provide it.
Who can access your information
Information is only available to people who genuinely need it.
This includes:
- authorised administrators from Extra Yard Community Project CIC
- approved activity providers delivering sessions your child has booked onto
- authorised technical support where required to maintain the platform
Providers only have access to information necessary to safely deliver their own sessions.
Public leaderboards never display a child’s real name.
How we protect your information
Health and emergency information is encrypted within the platform.
Access is restricted according to user roles.
The system keeps records of important administrative actions to help protect participant information.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- request a copy of your information
- ask us to correct inaccurate information
- ask us to delete information where appropriate
- withdraw optional consent
- restrict certain processing
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

Participation in the project does not transfer ownership of any software or intellectual property.
